Welcome to Minot YP

Welcome to the home of Young Professionals of Minot. We're excited about this growing network. We are a group of young professionals, ages 21-39, living and working in Minot and the surrounding areas, who want you engaged in Minot!

Chelsea Gleich
Congrats to Chelsea Gleich, our YP of the month!

Where are you working & what do you do there?

I work for the Minot Downtown Business & Professional Association. In my role as the Executive Director, I focus on community relations, advocacy, membership recruitment and retention and help out with our many events.

Tell us about your family:

My husband, John, and I have one four-year-old son named Jaxon. I come from a family of three kids, and my parents, brother and sister all live here in Minot. So, it's been great being closer to them since John, Jaxon and I moved here in February.

Why are you a YP member and how are you involved within YP?

Before moving here, I was a member of the YP leadership team in Bismarck. I found the YP to be a great way to meet fun, motivated people with great ideas and the desire to make a difference in the community. When I moved here and joined the Minot YP, I was hoping for that same experience. I have not been disappointed. Currently, I'd say I am "team shopping." I'm looking into becoming more involved in the Outreach and Marketing teams specifically, but right now I'm just trying to find the best fit.

Are you involved with any other clubs or groups in Minot?

I serve as an ex-officio member of the Chamber of Commerce and Visit Minot Boards of Directors. I haven't joined any other groups or clubs yet, but I'm interested in learning what these groups have to offer and how I can get more involved in the community.

What is your favorite thing to do in Minot?

Go shopping downtown! And, no, I'm not paid to say that. J I love the experience of walking outside, sipping a latte and being surrounded by interesting things and people.

What is your biggest dream/goal?

My biggest goal is to make a lasting impact on the community. I believe that it is our responsibility as members of a community to help make it the best it can be, and if we see something missing then that's an invitation to do something about it! I want to be one of those doers for our community.

What are your favorite movies or what type of music do you listen to?

I love intelligent crime movies. Catch Me If You Can is my all-time fave.

What's your favorite restaurant?

There are many that I love, but my current favorite is Sweet & Flour. Their lunch menu is to die for.

The household chore I enjoy/despise doing the most is?

I'm not a fan of putting away laundry. I can get them clean and folded in a basket, but there is something about that last step from basket to closet that I have to drag myself to do.

On a Friday night you'll find me?

My weekends have been anything but typical since I moved to Minot. However, right now you'd probably find me getting together with family and enjoying a fire out on the deck.
