Welcome to the home of Young Professionals of Minot. We're excited about this growing network. We are a group of young professionals, ages 21-39, living and working in Minot and the surrounding areas, who want you engaged in Minot!
Congrats to Suyi Hou, our YP of the month!
Where are you working & what do you do there?
I am with Karvakko Engineering - Minot office, and I am a civil engineer.
Tell us about your family:
I have 1 brother and 1 sister. They are both younger than me. My family lives in LaMoure, ND, a small but beautiful town located in southeast North Dakota. And we have a lovely chocolate Labrador, Tucker!
Why are you a YP member and how are you involved within YP?
After I moved here last year, I was looking for any opportunities to meet new folks and get involved in this community. Friends from work told me that Young Professionals Network Minot would be a great place, so here I am. :D
Are you involved with any other clubs or groups in Minot?
I was part of Community Leadership Institute (CLI) class last year, and I am staying pretty active for any volunteering work in Minot.
What is your favorite thing to do in Minot?
Meeting new people and making new friends every day. I can always learn something from everyone.
What if your biggest dream/goal?
A person who can make the world a better place, and living a happy and healthy life.
What are your favorite movies or what type of music do you listen to?
I am a huge fan of both movies and music. I go to movies or watch movies at home literally every single weekend. The Shawshank Redemption, Star Wars, Star Trek, Forrest Gump, 12 Years a Slave, Interstellar, The Other Guys and so forth, there are just too many movies that I love. I like all kinds of music as well, but I definitely like 50s and 90s more.
What's your favorite Restaurant?
No specific restaurants. As long as they serve delicious food, I will love them. American food, Mexican food, Asian food, Italian food... Yes please!
The household chore I enjoy/despise doing the most is?
I like to keep my place super clean and organized. I do them every day and never get tired of it.
On a Friday night you'll find me....
Staying at home, working out at the gym, having a good time with friends, or playing board and card games with the family
